So, today's story is there's a proposal for a scenic gondola between Downtown Traverse City and Old Mission Peninsula. It says Traverse City may soon get a new way to cross the bay and it's not by car boat. The, proposal unveiled this week outlines plans for a scenic gondola system connecting Downtown Traverse City to Old Mission Peninsula offering both transportation and panoramic views of Grand Traverse Bay.
0:46 According to early details, Uganda would depart from a station near Clinch Park, possibly the old Bijou building there, and travel across the water to multiple stop points along the peninsula including popular wineries and, the old Mission Point Lighthouse. And, yeah, it says it'll be enclosed all season gondola cabins seating six to eight passengers, a Mid Bay pause point designed for scenic viewing and photography, direct access to select wineries and lookout areas. Travel time is estimated at under ten minutes from downtown to the peninsula.
