0:00 Good morning, Northern Michigan. This is Cup of Traverse City for the 12/10/2025. I'm Mike, and I have my coffee in hand. Well, truth be told, I already had a whole cup. Now I got a second one, so we're good. Anyway, today in the weather, what is the actual temperature right now? It's 28 degrees, so you know, sort of mild for winter. You know I predicted that all this stuff was gonna melt off one more time. Well, I think I'm wrong. Anyway, today a 50% chance of snow showers, patchy blowing snow between 1PM 3PM. They're pretty exact today.

0:41 Mostly cloudy with a temperature falling to around 25 by 5PM. Blustery with a north wind of 10 to 20 miles per hour with gust as high as 35. Yeah. That does sound blustery. Tonight's snow showers likely mostly cloudy with a steady temperature around 24 northwest wind, 10 to 15 miles per hour with gusts as high as 35. And, well yeah. And tomorrow, 30% chance of snow showers. Hey. We're getting a little bit less. I don't know. It's snow snow. So every every line on the extended forecast says snow. And I guess that's apropos for this time of year. But, anyway, I'm I'm already sort of tired of it, but that's alright.

1:30 So let's see. The main thing in the news that caught my eye is the Blue Angels have decided that they are gonna return to the National Cherry Festival in 2027, not next year, the year after. Next year they're gonna have the f sixteen, Viper demo team amongst other airshow acts at the Cherry Festival Air Show. They usually put together a pretty good show whether the Blue Angels or the Thunderbirds are here or not. Kinda curious the Thunderbirds have been missing for a little bit. As you know, I'm an aviation enthusiast and a pilot. So, you know, I I take great, pleasure in watching things like that. Plus, I was in the air force and worked on fighter jets.

2:20 So, yeah, there there there's that. But, anyway, so that show will like I said, in 2027, we'll have the Blue Angels again. So that's good. They're they've been coming here since 1988. And, you know, the last year, there was a bit of a controversy with the airport and and all that, but I think they've got that worked out, hopefully. And, we'll continue to have the, the festival air show. It's kinda neat how they do it. They, usually come in a few days early, you know, all the acts, and, they do a practice show on Friday, and then they do a full show on Saturday and Sunday. So you got lots of opportunities to watch the air show, and one of the unique things is that they do it over water.

3:13 Usually over it's over West Bay, and they set up airshow box in the bay. And it usually has some coast guard ships and coast guard auxiliary boats and whatnot, that cordon off the the box so, you know, you can launch your boat and go out watch the, airshow from the water, which I may do that this year, this coming up year. I haven't done that in many years. It was, that was a lot of fun. Thing with that is you got to put your boat in really early to get a get a spot at any of the boat launches on West Bay. But, you know, maybe I'll be adventurous, put it in on East Bay and, you know, early in the morning when it's calm, hopefully, and go around the peninsula. But, yeah. I've I've done it on Center Road Launch or not Center Road, Bowers Harbor Launch.

4:09 And if you get there really early, you can get a parking spot for your boat and trailer. But, anyway, that's all summertime stuff. We're dealing here with winter. And one tip, I've noticed a lot of people driving around that with very little snow removal on their windows. Please please please please clear your windows. Watched a guy drive by just a little bit ago as I had to shovel my way into the studio this morning. If you don't know, my studio is a 10 by 10 shed in my backyard, and I had to shovel my way from the back door to the, office this morning and, you know, out to the driveway.

4:56 But as I was shoveling, I looked and, there was a a guy that I it looks like he cleaned off, like, half of his windshield and none of the side windows or the back window, and he's driving down the road. Yeah. Please please clear your windows. And if you have four wheel drive that you can switch from four to two, make sure you're in four wheel drive whenever the roads are covered. Yes. It'll make you go faster, but also know that it will not make you stop faster. Anyway, I had a whole episode on winter driving over at mikedell.com, Mike Dell's world show that I do.
