0:00 Good morning, Northern Michigan. This is Cup of Traverse City for the 12/12/2025. I'm Mike. And today, I'm gonna start a little different. I have a news story that came across my desk here, and I think it's pretty, interesting, especially for those of you that live a little further out from Traverse City. So there's gonna be a new hotel or at least it's proposed at the Cherry Capital Airport. And the idea with that one is is, first off, they're gonna have a rooftop bar overlooking the runways and and ramps and whatnot at the airport, which is kinda cool. They wanna locate it kinda near the employee parking lot. And, basically, it's gonna be an 89 room hotel.
0:51 And the the purpose of it or, you know, obviously, make money. But, the purpose of it, would be for people that, you know, come in from further out that have a really early morning flight. It'd be a handy spot, and I'm sure there's gonna be parking involved and all that. But, yeah, they proposed it to the airport authority zoning board last night and or yesterday, I guess, probably during the day. But, yeah, 89 units could have an event space, rooftop bar overlooking the runway, and, you know, it'd be, addressing a long standing demand for travelers, for accommodations at the airport.
1:32 So that's kinda kinda cool for for those of you that have to travel to Traverse City to fly out, you know, which is a lot of, lot of places around here. I'm lucky I'm a mile and a half from the terminal, so not a big deal. But, yeah, I just thought that was extremely interesting. I'll have a link in the show notes over at cuptraverscity.com. And let's see. Oh, yeah. Last night you know, more aviation relay. This isn't an aviation show, but, I had the holiday party for the experimental aircraft association chapter two three four last night over at Sledders, and it was very well attended.
