Speaker 0: Good morning, Northern Michigan. This is Cup of Traverse City for the 12/02/2025. I'm Mike. And I guess as usual, we'll start with the weather. Looks like, today, we have a little chance of snow before 10AM, and then mostly cloudy and high near thirty.

Again, just kinda like yesterday. I looked out my window here, and I've got a, what's called a y'all o meter. Y apostrophe a l l, y'all o meter. And it's a, snow gauge from Ryan Hall y'all, which is a YouTube channel, about weather on, of course, on YouTube. Anyway, I I bought some of his merch, and, I got a 42 inch y'all o meter.

So and it's up to four inches, where I've got it placed. Of course, we've had more snow elsewhere in the area, but in my little, little, area there, it's up to four inches. So, anyway, that's, that's it for the weather. It looks like, tonight, 50% chance of snow showers, mostly after 1AM. And, of course, Wednesday snow showers, Wednesday night snow showers.

Yeah. It's a recurring theme this time of year, but that's alright. So after twenty years of trying, a Traverse City man's crossword puzzle is gonna appear in the New York Times today. So if you get the times or play the the New York Times app, it's a, a puzzle from somebody here in Traverse City. Trying to find there we go.

Jonathan Bodd. And, his puzzle's gonna appear today. And, he's been trying to submit, you know, lots of times over the years, I guess, 20. And usually, he gets a rejection notice, but, he opened the email requesting edits. So, anyway, come to find out, he had a couple little edits he had to make, and, his puzzle's gonna be in the times.

So I don't know very many people around here that get the New York Times, but I guess online and, and in the gaming app there for, New York Times because their crossword puzzles are usually pretty legendary. You know, my father-in-law used to love crossword puzzles. And, every year at Christmas time, it was pretty easy to get him a book of crossword puzzles. And my wife likes them too. So, anyway, on to one other story, which I love.

You know, I drive a a full size Toyota Tundra, which is not known for the best gas mileage. So whenever gas prices are getting lower, that's a good thing. So gas prices in Michigan have dropped by 15¢ in the last week. And statewide, the average is $2.96 a gallon for regular unleaded. And what I found interesting about this is Traverse City is the lowest price in the state at, where was it?

Yeah. Ann Arbor is the highest with $3.00 6, and Traverse City is least expensive at $2.63 a gallon. I think I paid $2.50 something the other day at Costco, so Costco is even cheaper. But, yeah, I love it when, the gas prices go down, especially going into this time of the year. I use a lot of gas.

You know, we got the tractor. In fact, they went and picked that up yesterday and and, from the dealer. And, well, I thought I bought a new one. I they had service. But, anyway, picked that up from the dealer.

So, yeah, I'm gonna be using lots of gas. I fill that tractor up. Well, last year, it was at least a couple times a week. Just doing, three driveways. This year, I'm gonna do a little less.

I'll do, of course, one driveway, and then I'll do mine and, and the neighbor's side. Still three, but, I'm not gonna do mine as much. You know, wife and I both have four wheel drive, which I highly recommend. Go see, Mike Dole's World, episode about winter driving and, all that.
