Speaker 0: Good morning, Northern Michigan. This is your cup of Traverse City for the 04/06/2026. I'm Mike, and I got new glasses so I can see clearly now. And I have my coffee. So, this weekend, so actually starting Friday is the Michigan sauna fest.
And, never heard of such a thing, but, it's gonna be at the Clinch Park Marina downtown Traverse City, on the waterfront there. And they've got a whole lot of events, but I'm gonna read their about page here to you. The Michigan Sauna Fest was created with the purpose of bringing together lifelong sauna lovers with sauna curious into a community enjoying our state's bounty of fresh water and quality heat. This is not a trade show, although we have top notch commercial sauna builders, world class sauna stove manufacturer, and a wide variety of mobile saunas from throughout the region in attendance. They'll be gathered to celebrate here with the community at large.
Be prepared for a weekend of cold plunges West Bay, in Lake Michigan. I guess West Bay is Lake Michigan. So there you go. And a sampling of the most creative and handcrafted saunas from around Michigan. Many that participate oh, no.
That many passionate hands have built into these heated abodes to help us transcend into the next season. I don't know, but interesting. It's gonna be April 10 through the twelfth, right there in Traverse City. Some of the saunas that will be there is, the hearth hearth sauna. These are all mobile, saunas, so they're bringing them to the to the park there.
But hearth sauna, sleeping bear saunas, howl at the moon sauna company. Some of these are pretty funny. Sanctuary, northern heat sauna rentals, Asante sauna. That's from Kingsley. Oh, I didn't realize, I had anybody out in Kingsley doing that.
Here's one of my favorite ones, Sweaty Yeti, timber sauna company and fire and ice, Juniper and company sauna, purely nomadic sauna company, Detroit Mobile Sauna, Michigan hot box, and Steamhouse Sauna. So they're from all over the, the state of Michigan, it looks like. There's some from Detroit and Grand Rapids and up in the UPA. So, interesting. I still love that name, Sweaty Yeti.
But, anyway, if you wanna go check it out, looks like, where's the schedule of events here? Let me find that again. There we go. Schedule of events, Friday, April 10, opening night. It's the, evening kickoff event open to sauna hosts, select volunteers, and VIP weekend pass holders.
The VIP weekend passes are sold out. So you can, now you can still buy tickets for individual sessions and, you know, and you can just go hang out over there and talk to people. That's cool. But, Saturday the eleventh, they're gonna have a community cold plunge, open community sauna blocks, social games, entertainment, and evening live music. I don't know who they're gonna have there for live music, but might be fun.
And then, you know, that's open from 9AM to 9PM, and on Sunday, 9AM to 3PM, and no live music on Sunday. But, yeah. Sounds like maybe Saturday, afternoon, evening might be the the time to go check that out, if I will or not, but we'll see. But tickets are still available, like I said, for the individual sauna sessions. And, yeah, pretty pretty interesting event.
I saw that come up a couple days ago. I'm like, wow. That's interesting. Hey. The, weather.
Today, a chance of snow showers before 2PM and a chance of rain showers between two and 3PM, and then a chance of snow showers again after three. Partly sunny with a high near 39. Light northwest wind increasing from to 10 to 15 miles per hour this morning. Winds could gust as high as 30. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Kinda like the snow yesterday. On Sunday, it was, I call it a three foot snow. Not that it was three feet deep, but the the, snowflakes were about three feet apart. So it was just a dusting, not even that. Tonight, mostly cloudy with a low around 21.
Northwest wind, 10 to 15 miles per hour with gusts as high as 30. And tomorrow, part, I don't know, mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny with a high near 35 northwest wind around five miles per hour. And, you know, the extended forecast actually looks more like it's gonna be decent, you know, forties, fifties, like on Thursday, but it might rain a bit. I was ready to build an arc, Friday and Saturday. Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
Oh, boy. Lots of rain. Anyway, everybody have a great day. Happy Monday. We'll catch you tomorrow.
